1. The Prince Albert Ghost Walk
Prince Albert local and registered tour guide Ailsa Tudhope takes you on a twilight walk through
the town as darkness descends, introducing you to Prince Albert’s rich history, fascinating
characters, and ghosts! It’s a fun pre-dinner activity for the whole family that reveals the town’s
hidden treasures and hidden histories. The walk takes about an hour and half.
2. Famous Sunday roast at the Swartberg Hotel
What better way to experience traditional South African culture than through food? You can expect meaty ‘Karoo Classics’ including our famous Sunday roast, as well as a full range of delectable meals and treats to suit every palate.

3. Catch a show at the Showroom
No trip to Prince Albert is complete with catching a live show at our our lovely local theatre, the
Showroom. From live music to plays, standup comedy and more, prepare to be entertained by
some of South Africa’s best live acts. We’re very proud!
4. Go on a nature walk with Sue Milton-Dean
The Wolvekraal Nature Reserve is a must-see for nature-lovers, and there’s no better way to learn
about the local fauna and flora than in the company of nature expert Sue Milton-Dean. Be
prepared to be astounded by the unique biodiversity, geology and history of the area in this two
hour guided nature walk.
5. Walk the Koppie/ Koppiestap
A breathtaking and deliciously photogenic view of Prince Albert and the Karoo landscape is just
20 minutes away along the Gordon Koppie trail. Head to the top of Cromwell Street and soak in
the natural beauty of the area (no permit required).
The path starts at the top of Cromwell Street and ends in Klipstreet and can be done in reverse, starting at the corner of Klip and Bergsig Streets.
Wear a hat, sturdy shoes or boots and carry some water.

6. Visit the Prince Albert Art Gallery
Does it actually make sense to stroll around in Prince Albert without making a stop to indulge and take in beautiful art? Within the surroundings of such arid and stark beauty that the Karoo landscape offers all around, the artists on display at the Prince Albert Art Gallery fully captures and contrasts the colours of human perception and experience.
7. Stroll around the Saturday morning market
Prince Albert’s Saturday morning market is a much loved institution and is held every Saturday morning on the square next to the Fransie Pienaar Museum.
Saturday morning – 8 am to roughly 12 pm
Stallholders offer dried fruit, homemade jams, pickles, cakes and bread, patés, fresh fruit, free-range eggs and organic vegetables. Enjoy a cup of coffee with a pancake or breakfast at the market. Some Saturdays you will find crafters selling their wares.
Volunteers from the ‘Thursday Group’ run a White Elephant stall which supports the soup kitchen and other charities in the village.

8. Weekly Saturday morning Park Run
What is Prince Albert parkrun? It is a 5km run - it's you against the clock.
Every Saturday at 7:00am (October - March) & 8:00am (April - September).
The event takes place at Odendaal Stadium, Odendaal Street, Prince Albert, 6930.
And it's free! But please register before your first run. Only ever register with parkrun once. Don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won't get a time.
